In Which I've Joined a New Book Site

The other day I received an e-mail from a new website called Custom Reads that was interested in having me join in order to recommend books to users. The basic gist of the site is that people choose different genres of books that they like to read and they get book recommendations from other readers who have read and liked them. It's in beta at the moment and the choices on genres and books are limited to what people have recommended but the great thing is that as more people join and recommend, the more choices there will be.

I'm going to spend some time in the next few weeks doing some recommending of books that I've read this year and really liked and I'm hoping to find some books from other recommenders on the site that I can read next year.

The "Books I Should Have Read By Now" December Link-Up

Hey everyone,

December is here (and has been for over a week now) and I realized that I still hadn't posted the last link-up for the challenge I hosted this year. While I've failed miserably to complete it, a lot of you have been pretty successful in reading all those books you've had sitting around for a while and I congratulate you for that.

You have a few more weeks to get reviews in for this challenge, so don't forget to post the links in the linky tool below. I hope you guys have had fun doing this challenge and that you'll consider participating in the challenge I'm hosting next year (details to come in the near future).

Also, here's the link for November's link-up in case you still need to post reviews for last month.

It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

Every Monday, Sheila at Book Journey hosts It's Monday! What Are You Reading? in which she asks bloggers to share what they read the week before, what they're currently reading, and what they plan on reading next.

I've been much more productive the last few weeks than I was the last time I posted for IMWAYR. I decided to knock out a few more books for the Books to Movies challenge, hosted by Two Bibliomaniacs and I also finally finished a trilogy that I've been working through the last several months.

So here, without further ado, is what I've been reading.

What I Read Last Week:
-Everything Is Illuminated by Jonathan Safran Foer
-Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk
-The Princess Bride by William Goldman (reread)
-That Hideous Strength by C.S. Lewis

What I'm Currently Reading:
-Perfume: The Story of a Murderer by Patrick Suskind
-False Alarm: The Truth about the Epidemic of Fear by Marc Siegel

What I'm Reading This Week:
-Love Always by Ann Beattie
-Looking for Alaska by John Green
-The Never-Ending Story by Michael Ende (reread)
-The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury
-Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim by David Sedaris
-The Westing Game by Ellen Rankin (reread)

I'm trying to knock out about six books a week (although I know that I probably won't) so that I can reach my goal of 100 books for the year. We'll see how that goes.
