It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

Every Monday, Sheila at Book Journey hosts It's Monday! What Are You Reading? in which she asks bloggers to share what they read the week before, what they're currently reading, and what they plan on reading next.

I've been much more productive the last few weeks than I was the last time I posted for IMWAYR. I decided to knock out a few more books for the Books to Movies challenge, hosted by Two Bibliomaniacs and I also finally finished a trilogy that I've been working through the last several months.

So here, without further ado, is what I've been reading.

What I Read Last Week:
-Everything Is Illuminated by Jonathan Safran Foer
-Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk
-The Princess Bride by William Goldman (reread)
-That Hideous Strength by C.S. Lewis

What I'm Currently Reading:
-Perfume: The Story of a Murderer by Patrick Suskind
-False Alarm: The Truth about the Epidemic of Fear by Marc Siegel

What I'm Reading This Week:
-Love Always by Ann Beattie
-Looking for Alaska by John Green
-The Never-Ending Story by Michael Ende (reread)
-The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury
-Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim by David Sedaris
-The Westing Game by Ellen Rankin (reread)

I'm trying to knock out about six books a week (although I know that I probably won't) so that I can reach my goal of 100 books for the year. We'll see how that goes.

  1. wow, I'm on holidays (working two days a week) and I know I'd never find the time to read 6 books a week! Good luck, hope you manage to make your target. I have a sinking feeling that I'll just miss out meeting mine by one or two.

    How'd you like Fight Club?

  2. Good luck on the reading goal. I've started on the light reading in the run up to Christmas so it looks like I'm reading more but I'm not really.

I have got nowhere with the Books I Should Have Read By Now challenge, I'm rubbish at structured reading!

  3. Kayleigh: You know that saying about shooting for the moon and landing amongst the stars? That's pretty much what my 6-books-a-week goal is going to be like. I'll say six, but I'd be happy with three or four. I'll probably end up just reading a couple of really short kids books if I find that I'm not going to make 100 books this year. It's cheap and dirty, but I'm okay with that. LOL. Have fun on holidays!

Ellie: I haven't gotten anywhere with it either, so I'm not judging. I'm okay with structured reading if I'm reading books that I really, really want to. If not, I just crap out and start reading whatever I want. :)

  4. I read The Princess Bride - great book. I didn't realize that Fight Club was a book by Chuck Pa....can't type the name. by Chuck! :)

I've seen a coupld of Dave Sedaris interviews on David Letterman and I think on Craig Ferguson...one of those shows. What a funny guy. I'd love to read one of his books one day...I actually almost bought one, before I heard of him, but put it aside for something else (I was on a budget). Now I wish I'd bought it. Oh well, one day soon...
Have a great reading week (and everything else week - just have a great week! g)

  5. Mardel: Every time I went to write or type the name Palahniuk I had to make sure I had a copy of the book with me so that I could know how to spell it. I definitely feel you on that.

Sedaris is definitely worth reading. He's hilarious. I only just started reading him this year, but already I've read four of his books. I've become somewhat of a Sedaris addict.
