The Amazing Backlog of Reviews

Hello, all!

The good news is that I can physically use my computer again. The even better news is that I have a long list of books for which I still need to write reviews. The bad news is that I'm still not online at home. I have a plan, however. This month I'm going to bury myself in the library or a Starbucks or pretty much anywhere that has internet access and write a marathon of reviews.

So, what can you look forward to in the next few weeks?

Fiction:
-A Study in Scarlet by Arthur Conan Doyle
-The Sign of the Four by Arthur Conan Doyle
-Wonder Boys by Michael Chabon
-Love at Absolute Zero by Christopher Meeks
-review posted Oct. 10; author interview posted October 11 (book tour)

Non-Fiction:
-Bossypants by Tina Fey
-Failed States by Noam Chomsky
-Bias: A CBS Insider Exposes How the Media Distort the News by Barry Goldberg
-The Conscience of a Conservative by Barry Goldwater
-The Conscience of a Liberal by Paul Krugman
-Kingdom Coming: The Rise of Christian Nationalism by Michelle Goldberg
-Field Notes from a Catastrophe by Elizabeth Kolbert
-Under a Green Sky: Global Warming, the Mass Extinctions of the Past, and What They Can Tell Us About Our Future by Peter D. Ward
-The Discovery of Global Warming by Spencer R. Weart
-The Art of Eating In: How I Learned to Stop Spending and Love the Stove by Cathy Erway
-The End of Nature by Bill McKibben
-The Filter Bubble: What the Internet Is Hiding from You by Eli Pariser

Okay, yes, that's a crap-ton of non-fiction. I had a bit of NF binge these last few weeks. My apologies. My goal is to read a bunch of fiction this month so that I can stagger my reviews (a non-fiction book here, a couple of novels there, another non-fiction, etc.) and get a little variety in here.

Starting this month, no matter what it takes, I will be posting on a regular basis. Honest. I swear. Stop looking at me like that.

Oh, and since it's Monday, here's my truncated "It's Monday! What Are You Reading?" post:

Previously Read:
-See list above

Currently Reading:
-Necropolis: London and Its Dead by Catharine Arnold

What I'm Reading This Week:
-Area 51: An Uncensored History of America's Top Secret Military Base by Annie Jacobsen
-Perelandra by C.S. Lewis (Yes, Nonners, I'm finally reading it. LOL)
-Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David Leviathan

Also, if you guys check out Milton Jones' fan-run Facebook page, you'll see a link to my review of his novel Where Do Comedians Go When They Die? Okay, so you have to scroll down a bit...but it's there. :)

  4. Kat: I've heard such good things about that book. It's good to be back. :)

L.L.: I started it in, like, July and never got around to finishing it but I'm going to read it this week if I have to nail myself to the chair.

Laura: Some of them were great, some were not so great. I'm looking forward to reviewing again.

Ben: I'll be reviewing both the book and the film. Each was amazing in their own way.
