On My Shelf

I've decided to keep my To Be Read page strictly for books that I don't own, books that have been recommended to me or that I hear about on NPR. This page is dedicated to a TBR list of a different sort--all the books that are currently in my possession that I have either never read or never made it through. There are two lists here, each in alphabetical order: one of fiction books, the other of non-fiction. Maybe someday in the distant future I'll be able to wheedle this list down...if I don't keep adding to it in the meantime.

I can't even begin to remember where most of these came from. Some of them were purchases at bookstores, garage sales, and library book sales. Others were gifts from friends or family. Still others were gotten free from this or that "Take a Book, Leave a Book" shelf. Some were bought this year; others have been on my shelf since I was a kid. Most were acquired with a sincere to desire to read them; a couple (The Evangelical President and The Professors) were given to me by a Republican friend who had snagged them at CPAC and knew that, as a Liberal, I would find them hysterically funny despite their attempts to be serious. All will be read someday. Maybe.

All links are to external pages. Not all links are to the exact edition that I own. Translators are noted.
