It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

Every Monday, Sheila at Book Journey hosts It's Monday! What Are You Reading? This is a chance for book bloggers to share what they read last week, what they are currently reading, and what they are reading next. It's also an opportunity for us to share other things that we did during the week. If you would like to participate, click on the links above.

Last week was Banned Book Week and, unlike last year, this year I spent a ton of time talking about it. I read a couple of banned books and wrote several posts that talked about my views of the subject.

What I Read Last Week:
-Catcher in the Rye by J. D. Salinger
-Angus, Thongs and Full Frontal Snogging by Louise Rennison

What I'm Currently Reading:
-A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving
-Pick Your Poison: How Our Mad Dash to Chemical Utopia Is Making Lab Rats of Us All by Monona Rossol

What I'm Reading Next:
-Something New by Malena Lott
-The Star Diaries by Stanislaw Lem

Bloggy Goodness

Last week I did a Top Ten Tuesday Double Feature with the second top ten list being a list of my favorite banned books. I wrote a post about why I think book banning is wrong. Finally, as part of the Book Blogger Hop, I talked about why I think we need to celebrate banned books year-round.

In other news, I added a review policy (finally) and an About Me page. I've also scheduled Top Ten Tuesday posts for the rest of the month, which is a first for me.

What are you guys reading this week?

-Gabe

  2. Thanks. :) I'm almost done with that book, I just had to set it aside for Banned Books Week. I'm hoping to finish it by tonight, with the review up on Wednesday.

    1. I think I'm going to try doing what a lot of bloggers do and type up a short synopsis to go with each book. I find that the books I'm most likely to be interested in are the ones that are featured on IMWAYR posts that do that.
