Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the girls over at The Broke and the Bookish. Every week they post a prompt and ask book bloggers to answer that prompt in the form of a top ten list.

This week's prompt is: Top Ten Books to Get in the Halloween Spirit

I answered a very similar prompt last year called Top Ten Books to Read During Halloween. I haven't read anything since then because, frankly, I don't know enough about horror and have never gotten into the genre.

This week, I'm doing things a little differently. I'm letting you, dear reader, create my Top Ten List for me. In addition to any book recommendations that are left in the comments, I'll be looking through your Top Ten Lists to construct a list of Top Ten Horror Novels Gabe Should Read Before Next Halloween.

Check back here later in the day to see what books I've chosen. And don't forget to leave your favorite horror novel suggestions in the comments!

-Gabe

    2. Glad to hear it. I had to stop. Life got in the way :/ But now I have a roommate who is interested in starting a review blog. So I think I might get back into it. Always easier when someone does it with you. :3

  2. I just finished Stephen King's Full Dark, No Stars and thought it was great. It's four separate stories and they're all realistic (well, realistic in the sense that they're not supernatural)twists on common problems/experiences/crises. They're probably more thriller than horror, but since it's Stephen King I think it counts.

Otherwise, anything Stephen King is generally a good idea. Pet Semetery is fantastic, Misery, Cell or The Stand (if you're in the mood for something epic.

What else? Ramsey Campbell 'The Doll Who Ate His Mother'
James Everington 'The Shelter' (short novella)
Scott Snyder 'American Vampire' (graphic novel series)
    Ira Levin 'Rosemary's Baby'
John Ajvide Lindqvist 'Let the Right One In'

And classics like Frankenstein, Dracula will never not be awesome to read for Halloween.

I think I'll let everyone else name a couple now!

  3. I completely forgot to link to the TTT page (and also to compile a list and also to post something on Friday...) so I haven't gotten any suggestions other than yours yet, Kayleigh. :)
