Because Nonners Didn't Believe Me

I had mentioned yesterday that I have a Dark Mark tattoo and one of my favorite bloggers/followers decided to call my bluff.

Except that it isn't a bluff:

That is my actual arm wearing my actual shirt near my actual
wall in front of my actual crappy brown carpet.

So, ye of little faith, there is your evidence. I got it done when I was 20 or 21. It was right before The Deathly Hollows came out, so whenever that was. I got the version from the books done because I felt that the one from the films was just too big.

Also, BookBelle is my 20th follower! Go check out her blog!

  1. Ahaha! No way. That's not your arm, carpet, wall or shirt. That's a google image or some friends arm. I cannot stop laughing.

  2. ComaCalm: Thanks! I love it, too. I get so many comments from people about it.

Nonners: I really don't know why you don't believe me. In fact, I find it really annoying that you feel that I would lie about something as mundane as a tattoo. I have absolutely no reason to. That is my arm, my carpet, my wall, and my shirt. The picture was taken on my phone because I still can't find my camera. I can't even fathom what your reasoning would be for thinking that it's not. Laugh all you want, but this is just one of several tattoos that I have.

  3. Dude, I was joking. I totally believe it's you. Few points:

    1. You're only annoyed because you think I'm laughing at you...and I am. Just not about what you think.

    2. I'm laughing because you are significantly older than me. It's just funny.

    3. I'm also laughing because I can't imagine you in a tattoo parlor...not that I really know you. But from what I do know...again it's just funny.

    4. I'm sorry I hurt your feelings.

  4. Sorry, I was kind of a jerk about it.

It was more that I felt if you doubted my honesty about something as small as a tat, what else did you think I was lying about, you know? My integrity is really important to me, even in an anonymous setting like this.

It is kind of funny. I just really liked the symbol and as Harry Potter was a significant part of my life growing up, it just felt right to get it. I don't regret it at all.

I get that a lot from people. I'm really not the kind of guy people expect to have tattoos. I haven't gotten one in quite a few years, mostly for financial reasons, but also because I like having tattoos in places where I can see them--like my arms. Getting anymore would severely limit my chances for employment.

It wasn't that you hurt my feelings, per se, it was just that I really couldn't understand why you found it so unbelievable. You'd said before that you're a very literal person so I guess in my mind that translated to "she's not the kind of person who would take the piss out of someone." I've definitely learned my lesson. :)

  5. So you are mad? I didn't know I ticked you off that bad.

  6. Definitely not mad. "To take the piss out of someone" means to make fun of them. It's a British phrase. Sorry. I have a habit of picking them up because I watch a lot of British TV shows.

All I meant was that I hadn't expected you to joke like that. I was confused and didn't understand that you weren't being serious. The blame rests on my shoulders because I shouldn't have assumed things. I actually find it really funny. :)

  7. ah. Yes. Not British. Sorry. I had no idea what you were saying. Anyway, what other tattoos do you have? I'm enthralled now. I they say a lot about the person.

  8. I have the Eye of Rambaldi (from the show Alias) and I have a quote from the Iliad as well. Eventually I'd like to get more, especially one in honor of my grandmother. She died almost two years ago and she was the most important person in my life.

  9. Interesting. I feel like a doctor when I say that...

"mmhmmm...Yes...very interesting...and how was your childhood sir?"

  10. "Well, doc, I had to walk seven miles to school uphill both ways barefoot in three feet of snow every day for thirteen years."

  11. "mmm...*Scribble scribble*...I see. And how do you feel about your mother?"

  12. "I never knew my mom. She ran away to a circus after I was born. So it was just me and dad...until he got run over by a speeding tricycle."

  13. "mmhmm, yes *scribble scribble*. Yes I think I know what's wrong with you. Because there is something wrong with you. You're schizophrenic. Take 40 of these *hands you pills*, 25 of these *hands you melt able strips*, 55 of these *Hands you more pills* and 2 of these *hands you a box of soft candies* each and everyday. They work wonders on you. However, the side effect is you may die. But either way you'll be feeling better in no time!

  14. ...Can you promise me that you *won't* become a psychiatrist? LOL

  15. lol. Yes. I can. Honestly.

Oh, you'll never guess what I made!! A frequent commenter award...I'm not sure how you won...but you did. You've only commented 5 times...that's it. I guess I have a weird variety of people who comment. So go get that prize!...well give me a few min.s to post it. okay? Oh and btw, it has a rainbow on it. Sorry, I wasn't really thinking of you at the moment :/

  16. Now I feel even more guilty that I haven't made one for you. :(

And I like rainbows, so it's all right.

  17. I'm pretty sure I'll be getting one soon. Jut a hunch really :}
