A Literary Odyssey is doing a read-along of Homer's Iliad for the month of May and, being absolutely insane, I've decided to join in on top of all the other reading I have planned for the month.
I have until the 16th of May to get through the first twelve books and then the 31st of May to get through the last twelve. Definitely do-able.
This is my second time reading The Iliad. It was required reading for a class I took in college on ancient Greek history--the same class that made me want nothing more in the world than to be a professor of Classics. I have a special place in my heart for The Iliad and I even have a quote from it tattooed on my arm so I'm glad I have an excuse to reread it.

lol. Yes. I'm sure you do have it tattooed to your body.
ReplyDeleteLOL! Let's not start that again. :)
ReplyDeleteYes. Agree. Lets not and just skip to the part where you post a picture. I still feel like it's just so odd for you to have even one. I'm probably speaking without really knowing who you are really, but like I have said before, from what I've read, you just don't seem the "type".
ReplyDeleteIf I get a chance to, I'll post a picture before I leave for Tennessee. I still haven't packed yet and I have work all day tomorrow so I'm going to have to do things at the last minute. If I don't get a chance, bug me later this week after I get back and I'll post one.
ReplyDeleteLol. Deal :)
ReplyDeleteThere's quite a good bunch of us doing this now! I've gone for the prose version though, I'm not sure I could read the poetic verse quite so quickly.
ReplyDeleteYay, to you joining in. I am going to sit out in the sun today and get started on it.
ReplyDeleteEllie: I had to read the poetic verse for class so I'm used to it now. I'm not really much for poetry so the fact that I was able to enjoy it is pretty much a miracle. :)
ReplyDeleteKaren: That's sounds lovely. I wish there was sun here but, alas, it's supposed to be partly cloudy all day.
Hope you guys enjoy the book!
Wow..."that's" is obviously supposed to be "that".
