The Classic Bribe (Hosted by Quirky Girls Read)

Quirky Girls Read is hosting a challenge over the summer that they're calling The Classic Bribe. From June 1 to September 5, participating bloggers are to read at least one classic (if not more) and post reviews, linking to them on the Bribe's page. Each review that gets posted will count as an entry towards winning an Amazon gift card of up to $35 dollars.

Obviously this is meant to get people who don't normally read classics to do so, but experienced classics lovers are invited to join as well.

Tentative List:

*The Adventures of Tom Sawer by Mark Twain
*A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess
*Tess of the D'Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy
*Gulliver's Travels by Jonathan Swift
*Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
*Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson
*Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen
*Les Miserables by Victor Hugo

I may add more if I get the urge to, but for now, these are the books on my list.

  3. Sounds like a fantastic idea. I loved Tom Sawyer and Jane Eyre. I liked Sense and Sensibility too. The problem with Treasure Island is that I had watched the muppet movie so many times it was hard to get it out of my head.
